Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a powerful tool that can help individuals struggling with various mental health issues. As an accredited therapist, I work with clients collaboratively towards their goals using a variety of evidence based strategies and techniques. By working together, we will identify and make sense of problems which have a negative impact on the individual and work to develop tools and strategies to change or manage them.
Whilst I work with a variety of presenting problems, I have a specialist interest in anxiety disorders and trauma focussed CBT. This includes things such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder and PTSD.

Why do we wait for people to become unwell before referring them to a long waiting list so they can eventually engage in CBT? We wait to teach them skills to help manage worries and negative thoughts. We wait to help them recognise unhelpful patterns of behaviour and understand what is keeping them stuck. Surely prevention is a much better solution for everyone...?
Burnout and stress are just some of the factors which lead people to develop anxiety and depression, especially within the work place with added pressures and external factors. CBT teaches tools not only to learn how to improve these but also to help prevent them from happening in the first place.
